The exhibition, "The Art of Anchoring," took place from February 22 to March 6, 2025, at the ICAS Earl Lu Gallery in Singapore. This event encompassed a residency, panel discussions, and artist dialogues, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and cultural insights among emerging artists from Asia.
Co-organized by LASALLE College of the Arts and the University of the Arts Singapore, in collaboration with the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University and IAE, "The Art of Anchoring" aimed to highlight the artistic journeys of young Asian artists. This initiative was part of a broader mission to connect these artists with the Singaporean public, promoting a deeper understanding of contemporary art and cultural representation.
From February 4 to 21, 2025, selected artists participated in a residency, allowing them to engage with Singapore's multicultural landscape and explore the theme of collective identity. These artists drew inspiration from their interactions with local communities, reflecting on the complexities of identity formation through their creative practices.
The exhibition featured 17 artworks by 9 artists, showcasing diverse perspectives on collective identity. The opening of the exhibition coincided with a series of public programs, including Artist Tour and a Panel Discussion on February 22, 2025.
